I’m not sure when the title “sales rep” became tarnished and we started to call ourselves “executives”, “business development managers” and “territory managers.” Somewhere along the way many have forgotten the essence of these roles – and that’s to actually get out in front of retailers and sell a product that can deliver them a margin. When delivered from a position of product knowledge selling isn’t something we should be apologising for.
